February 10, 2016 Video and Slideshow

The fire started Friday, Feb 10 at about 7:54 AM. The Weathercam caught the event. The fire began along Wagon Wheel Gap Rd near Lion Point in Boulder County. Power was lost during the fire, and the exhaustion of battery backup for the camera eventually caused the system to shut down. Here is the time lapse video of what was recorded during the early stages of the fire. Also included are still images from my wife Pat, Jean Housepian and John Pedersen which were taken during and after the fire. Thanks to the quick response and overwhelming efforts of the Boulder Mountain Fire crews, the fire was contained to about 4-5 acres and no structures were lost. High winds on Feb 10 knocked down trees and power lines, and caused this fire, as well as several others along the Front Range. Move your mouse off the video to see the entire image.
